国立民族学博物館・超域フィールド科学研究部・教授

専門は文化人類学。イタリアでフィールドワークを行い、家族・親族、ジェンダーを主な研究テーマとしている。最近は食にも関心を広げ、国民料理やローカル・フード運動などにかんする考察を行っている。主な業績は『城壁内からみるイタリア』（単著、臨川書店2015年）、『ジェンダー人類学を読む』(共編著、世界思想社2007年)、『世界の食文化百科事典』（共編著、丸善2021年）。
